Geological Engineering is an interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate program offered by the College of Engineering in cooperation with the Department of Geology and Geophysics.

The program enables students to specialize in the engineering application of the earth sciences. Students obtain an education that emphasizes courses in geology, geophysics, hydrogeology, rock and soil mechanics, remote sensing, and environmental studies, and their application to engineering design in projects related to rocks, soils and groundwater.

All EGR students are advised at Engineering General Resources. Pre-engineers who are interested in geological engineering are also invited to consult with Professor Edil or other program faculty regarding the curriculum or the profession. A student guide is available in the program office.
