Counseling Services for Students

Why See a Counselor?

A counselor provides support and understanding, as well as useful information and suggestions. A counselor assists you in developing greater self-awareness and in evaluating options to address your specific needs and concerns.

Vocational interest tests and a personality type indicator are also available to assist in your self-understanding and decision-making.

The COE Counseling Service

The College of Engineering's Counseling Service is available because it's easier to concentrate on your studies if you can deal effectively with personal, academic and career concerns. Talking with someone who is objective and empathetic can help you sort through these concerns.

Appointments can be made with the COE counselor, David Lacocque by telephoning him (608/265-5600), emailing (delacocque@uhs.wisc.edu), or calling or stopping by the office at 115 North Orchard St., Madison, WI 53715, Phone: 608/265-5480.

Confidentiality is assured within applicable legal and ethical guidelines. Nothing will be recorded in your academic file.
