Welcome!
Wisconsin Junior Science,
Engineering and Humanities Symposium
February 22-23, 2012
University of Wisconsin-Madison
The Wisconsin Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium (JSEHS) is a two-day campus-wide event on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus when high school students can learn about research and careers in science, engineering and mathematics. The 2012 Symposium will be held on February 22-23, 2012. There are many different ways that students can become involved:
Students can attend workshops, lab visits and learn from researchers and faculty.
Students can share brief poster presentations of a topic that interests them.
Students can share research ideas in a discussion panel session for useful feedback.
Students can present original research and qualify for scholarships and awards.
A generous grant from the Department of Defense covers all participation expenses, but funding is limited and all participants must pre-register. See the online registration form for deadlines and requirements or contact Carole J. Trone, WI JSEHS Symposium Director at cjtrone@wisc.edu with questions.
Students who choose to submit and present a research paper will be eligible for the following awards and scholarships:
Undergraduate tuition scholarships to college of choice: $2,000, $1,500, $1,000
Expense paid trip to the National Symposium (held in May 2012 in Washington, DC)
Compete at the National Symposium for: $12,000, $8,000, and $4,000 undergraduate scholarships
Advance to the International Symposium and win a trip to London, England
There is no registration fee to attend the Wisconsin Junior Science Symposium. For more information, e-mail Carole J. Trone, Symposium Director, at cjtrone@wisc.edu.
