Estimated Cost of Living in Madison

Living expenses will vary a great deal depending on your lifestyle. Following are estimates of the annual (12 months) expenses for the 2005/06 year:

Food and Housing (with heat and electricity) $ 7,220
Incidental expenses $ 3,900
Books and supplies $ 860
SHIP Insurance $ 1,248
Total $ 13,228

Incidental expenses include local transportation, phone, recreation, apartment set-up, clothing and apartment maintenance.
