Merit-based scholarships, made possible by alumni donations, are
awarded to about 100 entering high school seniors every
spring. Awards are based on outstanding high school
performance, aptitude and potential to succeed, as well as
recommendations of high school math, chemistry or physics
teachers. Awards are for the first year only. Subsequently,
high-ability students can compete for merit-based scholarships
given by individual
departments. (admin.engr.wisc.edu/affairs/pre/scholar.htm)
