COE Transfer Credit Policy for Project Lead the Way

The College of Engineering Transfer Credit Policy for Project Lead the Way explains how transferable credits can be applied to engineering degree requirements.

The College of Engineering will accept a maximum of 6 semester credits for PLTW credits awarded by the UW-Madison Office of Admissions. For engineering degree purposes, the PLTW credits will be designated as free-elective credits that will fulfill free-elective credit requirements in undergraduate engineering programs. At their discretion, individual programs may allow the credits to fulfill other degree requirements. Because free-elective credits count into the cumulative credits, they can also help provide students with an earlier registration time. Most importantly, the elective credits recognize students for their PLTW experiences and successful course work prior to embarking on studies in the College of Engineering.

Policy effective — February 2008
